JEWELLERY CARE GUIDE
Stainless steel
Your worry-free option
Stainless steel is significantly more durable and scratch-resistant than brass, silver or gold.
For the stainless steel jewellery plating, we use a vacuum-coating process called PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition). This is a much stronger alternative to traditional electroplating. To ensure premium quality, we apply the maximum possible plating thickness—using twice as much 14k gold or rhodium as the industry standard.
This combination makes MUSE and CHEVALIER jewellery waterproof and resistant to tarnishing, fading, and colour loss over time—even with regular exposure to water, sweat, and daily use.
Just wipe it with a soft cloth occasionally to keep it looking fresh. Wash it with hand soap in the lukewarm water if needed.

Sterling silver
Why TikTok hacks aren't for our sterling silver?
We've all seen them – the viral videos where you boil your jewellery with baking soda and aluminium foil balls. It's oddly satisfying to watch, but these hacks might work on plain silver, not on our pieces.
Our sterling silver jewellery features:
-
Rhodium or gold plating for extra shine
-
Precious stones
-
Enamel details
-
Intentional blackened accents
Those DIY hacks can strip plating, scratch stones, or wash away the beautiful contrast we've designed into each piece. The good news? Taking care of your jewellery is easier than those viral "hacks."
What NOT to do with sterling silver
01. Water & temperature
Skip the hot water extremes. Never boil your jewellery (yes, people do this!). Avoid ultrasonic cleaners. For rings with stones or enamel – don't fully submerge.
02. Chemicals
No vinegar, lemon juice, or hydrogen peroxide. Skip alcohol-based products. Avoid harsh cleaners.
03. Physical cleaning
No scrubbing with hard brushes. Skip abrasive substances (baking soda, toothpaste). Use only soft cloths. Be gentle – no aggressive rubbing.

01. Dry cleaning
Simply wipe your jewellery with a soft cloth (microfibre or flannel works great). No pressure, just gentle wiping.
02. Glycerine cleaning
Pure glycerin (99%) is safe for all plating types and super effective.
How to use:
-
Put 2-3 drops of glycerin on a cotton pad
-
Gently wipe the metal parts (skip stones, enamel, and blackened areas)
-
Let it sit for 5 minutes
-
Rinse with warm water
-
Pat dry with a soft cloth
For pieces with:
-
Gemstones – work around them
-
Enamel – avoid the enamelled surface
-
Blackening – dab lightly, don't rub

01. Jewellery polishing cloths
The easiest deep-clean option. These pre-treated cloths are made specifically for jewellery.
What to look for:
Cloths marked "for gold and silver" or "for yellow and white gold"
Never use cloths meant only for yellow gold on rhodium plating
Don't use these on enamel or blackened areas
Remember:
Don't wash these cloths. Only use cloths specifically labelled for jewellery. Check the package to confirm it's right for your metal.
