STERLING SILVER CARE GUIDE
This guide is for THÉSAURÍ jewellery in sterling silver — collections before 2026.
The current MUSE and CHEVALIER collections are made of stainless steel and require different care (Jewellery care guide).
What not to do with sterling silver
1. Water and temperature
Avoid extremely hot water. Never boil your jewellery. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners. For rings with stones or enamel, don’t fully submerge.
2. Chemicals
No vinegar, lemon juice, or hydrogen peroxide. Avoid alcohol-based products. Avoid harsh cleaners.
3. Physical cleaning
No scrubbing with hard brushes. Avoid abrasive substances (baking soda, toothpaste). Use only soft cloths. Be gentle; don’t rub hard.

Regular cleaning
Dry cleaning
Wipe your jewellery with a soft cloth (microfibre or flannel). No pressure, just gentle wiping.
Glycerine cleaning
Pure glycerine (99%) is safe for all plating types and highly effective.
How to use:

Put 2–3 drops of glycerine on a cotton pad.

Gently wipe the metal parts (avoid stones, enamel, and blackened areas).

Let it sit for 5 minutes.

Rinse with warm water.

Pat dry with a soft cloth.
For pieces with:

Gemstones: work around them

Enamel: avoid the enamelled surface

Blackening: dab lightly, don’t rub
Deep cleaning
In case of visible tarnish, stick to jewellery-specific products.
What to look for:

Jewellery polishing cloths marked “for gold and silver” or “for yellow and white gold”

Never use cloths meant only for yellow gold on rhodium plating.

Don’t use these on enamel or blackened areas.
Don’t wash these cloths. Only use cloths specifically labelled for jewellery. Check the packaging to confirm it’s right for your metal.
